US donates multimedia equipment to Pilot Schools
By Syed Intikhab Ali October 6, 2008 It may be noted that City nazim Mustafa Kamal has declared the” Year 2008- Education year” for CDGK, according to which city government would more concentrate on the education sector and developed the ruined infrastructure of more then 3500 schools runs under CDGK, provide quality education according the need of the hour at par of high level private sector schools, train teachers according to the demand of advanced education, provide computers, all equipments of science labs, provide all basic civic facilities and clean atmospheres to the thousands of students belonged to the low income community and poor segment of the society. The introduction of quality childhood education system in the developing schools of CDGK keeping in view that it would better that quality education would be provided to the children during their first step in the schools.
Farhana Iqbal, Chairperson of Committee for Monitoring and Improvement in Schools (CMIS) told The Nation, that Montessori classes and Kinder Garden education system would be introduced in the Pilot Project runs schools and as well as in the Model Schools.
She said that initially CMIS has selected Gulbai, Govt Girls Secondary School in Liaqatabad, and another schools in SITE, both are already developed under Pilot Project scheme.
It may be noted that under the Pilot project, campus of the city schools, are being developed and upgraded in each of 18 towns, while under Model Schools scheme 40 schools are being developed for boys and girls, two in each of 18 towns, across the city.
