New High Court CJ a conspiracy by govt
By SHAFI BALOCH August 8, 2008 KARACHI - Former President Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Munir A Malik said on Thursday that appointment of new Chief Justice of Sindh High Court was a conspiracy to sabotage the negotiations being held between PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
Addressing the general body meeting of Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) here, he said that dictators did not want the success of negotiations and hatching conspiracies against reinstatement of deposed judges and free judiciary. He added that due to the interference of the lawyers’ leadership, PML head Mian Nawaz Sharif took stand against the appointment of new Chief Justice of Sindh High Court.
He announced that if the government would not take any initiative to reinstate judges and restore the pre-November 3 judiciary, till 14th August, lawyers’ fraternity would chalk out strategy to speed up their ongoing movement across the country. He said the rulers were afraid of lawyers’ movement and they have been hatching conspiracies since day one.
