Karachi Varsity to get Rs 2 million grant
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER November 7, 2008 KARACHI- Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah will give cheque worth Rs 2 million to Vice Chancellor Karachi University Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui in a ceremony, which is going to be held on November 11, 2008 in connection with the setup of Benazir Bhutto Chair at the varsity.
Benazir Bhutto Chairs are going to setup at two varsities of the province, including Karachi University and Sindh University under the supervision of the Sindh department of culture and tourism. However, provincial minister for culture and tourism, Sassi Palejo will also attend the event.

First time in the history of University of Karachi a week long campaign was run from 31st Oct, 2008 to 07th November 2008 for the Screening of Metabolic Syndrome at the Department of Commerce with the collaboration and cooperation of Memon Diabetic and Diagnostic center. Metabolic Syndrome is a collection of health risks that increases the chances of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes etc.
