NAPA's future in doldrums
By SAADIA QAMAR October 7, 2008 Since February 2005, the academy is functioning under the chairmanship of Zia Mohyuddin. He played an outstanding role in ‘Lawrence of Arabia.’ Apart from that he continuously contributed to Urdu prose and poetry recitation.
Moreso, the academy premises are the inherent right of Hindus for whom it was created, long before Partition by Seth Ramgopal Goverdhandas Mohatta.
The actors of the academy are not giving their views with the fear of arousing problems of legal types. Leading TV artists are the main players of the NAPA like Dr Anwar Sajjad, Talat Hussain, Rahat Kazmi, Arshad Mehmood, Khalid Ahmad and Bakhtiar Ahmad.
