Minister dissatisfied over dept performance

KARACHI (APP) - Sindh Agriculture Minister Syed Ali Nawaz Shah has expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of market committees and water management.

He directed the concerned officials to improve their performance and said recovery of market committee fee be auctioned so as to alleviate the apprehensions of people on one hand and be beneficial for the department on the other.

Chairing a meeting of his department officials here Saturday, he directed them to focus more on development schemes and complete them within the stipulated period for the benefit of farmers. He laid emphasis on agriculture research and called for producing new crop varieties so that productivity is increased.

He said modern research be made accessible to growers so that they could take advantage of the same and help the economy to boost while agriculture machinery be also made accessible to small farmers.

Ali Nawaz Shah said PPP Government is taking all possible steps for development of agriculture and prosperity of growers.
