Of expensive and inferior flour
By Javed Mahmood November 9, 2008 Despite an unabated spike in the flour prices, an inferior quality ‘chaki atta’ is being marketed in Karachi and other parts of the country as the authorities concerned are least interested in maintaining the quality of the most expensive flour. In Karachi the rate price of ‘chaki atta’ is in the range of Rs 38 to Rs 40/kg. Usually the ‘chaki atta’ is believed to be pure, tasty and good in quality. Several consumers of this expensive flour told this scribe that the pathetic quality of the flour and they lambasted the manufacturers and the provincial authorities as well.
