Vehicle used in Islamabad blast snatched from Karachi

KARACHI - The explosive-laden vehicle used in the attack on police lines Islamabad was snatched in Karachi some four years ago, reliable sources confided to The Nation here on Thursday. The Honda car used in the bomb blast in police lines Islamabad had been snatched form one Faisal Ali, a local resident, within the limits of Bahadurabad Police Station. The culprits snatched the said vehicle No AEF-789 near Dohrajee roundabout and the concerned police had registered FIR 84/2004 on the report of Faisal against unknown criminals. It has also been learnt that culprits had also used another vehicles bearing a Karachi number in the previous blast in Islamabad.

Amin Yousafzai, chief Anti-Car Lifting Cell, said that culprits used fake registration number plate. He added that investigators were looking into the matter and it would be wrong to draw any conclusion prior to the identification of engine and chesses number of the said vehicle.
