Zardari given jail reforms proposals

“It was decided in the said meeting that positive and effective steps would be taken to improve the present alarming situation in jails”, Senator Talha said.

He further said that separate jails would be set up for female and juvenile prisoners in all districts.

Family rooms in the jails would also be constructed for prisoners, who have been sentenced long imprisonment, and at least three-days special permission would be given to them to stay with their family, he added. He said that prisoners awarded death sentence would not be kept in death cells till finalisation of their cases from the Supreme Court.
