Over 60 shops gutted in Shershah scrap market fire at Karachi

A fire in the Scrap Market of Shershah in Karachi was still raging as it completely gutted more than sixty shops. The Third category fire broke out in Jehanabad in Sher Shah locality early morning on Sunday, was being tackled by firefighters who were quick to reach the spot. However heavy winds in the city, along with toxic fumes of rubber and oil were aggravating the situation. No casualties have been reported so far -although Edhi and Chheepa ambulances were standing by on the spot. The Eidhi ambulance helicopter was also hovering over the area. The cause of the fire is still to be ascertained.
