Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER October 10, 2008

The respondent stated land of houses was acquired to build Race Course Road. Residents on same day approached Sindh High Court, which granted stay on razing of houses.

Counsel recalled CDGK on July 15, 2008 told SHC that affectees will be provided alternate plot measuring 80 square yard each, but did not come up to its words. He prayed court to direct CDGK to financially compensate affectees besides providing alternate plots so that they could build their houses. EDO (Law) CDGK was present in court.

SHC division bench after hearing arguments directed CDGK to provide alternate plots to affectees. It also set affectees at their liberty to re-settle back in Millat Colony, if proposed road was not built.
