Sindh Government lifts arms license quota

KARACHI - Sindh government has lifted the arms license quota and directed for the issuance of unlimited licenses to the people.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sindh government has issued more than 85,000 licenses in last five years and mostly had been issued to the citizens of Karachi.

According to the report, Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza has sent the summary to the Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah in this regard. The CM approved the recommendations and directed the authorities concerned to issue licenses without any quota.

Earlier, Sindh home department had fixed quota of 200 licenses for each district and same rule applied throughout the province. Home Secretary Sindh Arif Khan was not available for comment.
