Curbing terror must to cure economy: moot
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER October 11, 2008 In Islamabad Hizb-ut-Tahrir’s delegation was not allowed to go to Turkish embassy, therefore the letter of protest was sent to Turkish embassy through a courier service. In Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad the delegation were led by deputy spokesperson of Hizb -ut-Tahrir in Pakistan Shahzad Shaikh, member of Hizb-ut-Tahrir Dr.Iftikhar and deputy spokesperson of Hizb-ut-Tahrir in Pakistan Imarn Yousuf Zai respectively. The purpose of these meetings was to protest against Turkish government plan to stop political activities of Hizb-ut-Tahrir by declaring it a proscribed organisation.
Delegation made it clear that since the launching of Hizb-ut-Tahrir in 1953 till today; party is involved in political and intellectual struggle only. During these years, thousands of Shabad of Hizb-ut-Tahrir were imprisoned, tortured and embraced martyrdom, but these atrocities have never forced Hizb-ut-Tahrir to leave its non violent method to bring back Khailafah.
Delegation also protested that because of Hizb-ut-Tahrir’s political work and ever rising demand of Turkish Muslims to restore Khilafah, the Turkish government labelled a baseless allegation that Hizb-ut-Tahrir has relations with a miltan organisation.
