Pop icon Alamgir seriously ill in US

Considered a king of the Pakistani pop Music, until the early 1990’s.  Yet, he disappeared after the major stint and went towards the Western Hemisphere.

The hectic schedule and pressure of moving from one show to another, music studios to film recordings, and then to TV performances, simply sapped the energy out of him. He turned 40 and realised he had given so much to his fans, to his country, but had had not set aside any time for himself. That is when he moved to the USA and settled here, trying to find some space for his own life and family.

For the past 10-12 years he has been in the USA, shying away from public spotlight in Pakistan. Once or twice, was he was picked up by the media and interviewed but his solo performances were nowhere in sight.

Now is the time for us to act our part and support the person who is in need of support and probably some financial assistance as well. Lying unwell in a foreign land he might be looking out for support from his loved ones residing in Pakistan.

Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul- Ibad Khan and provincial cultural minister Saussi Palijo also took notice of ailment of famous singer Alamgir and issued directives for provide financial help regarding his treatment.

The music enthusiasts have appealed to the Federal and Sindh governments that issuing statements reflecting just concerns won’t help him at all as the edgy condition of the artists is getting worse with every day passing.
