Eight hurt in clash between student groups

KARACHI - Tension gripped the Quaidabad area when at least eight people, including two journalists of a private TV channel, were injured in a clash between two student organisations here on Sunday.

The incident took place at Pakistani Swedish Institute of Technology (PSIT) situated at Quaidabad, in the jurisdiction of Shah Latif Police Station, where activists of rival student organisations opened fire on each other leaving two policemen, a reporter and a cameraman of a private TV channel and four students injured.

Witnessed told the members of a student group along with the law enforcers were checking the students entering the institute for entry test for diploma in associate engineering.
