Good old days of cinema-going!
By SAADIA QAMAR September 13, 2008 It may also be mentioned that the Hollywood movies were also put in Pakistan's cinemas, 'The Good the Bad and the Ugly', for instance became a huge success in the country.
More interestingly, apart from the hectic schedule, people have found new and modified means of entertainment. They preferred dining out, going on long drives or reading a good informative book rather going to cinemas.
Cinema, at one time, was considered an outing for the adult and more often children had also accompanied them. If the movie was good, it was being referred to friends and other relatives. Going to cinema is still a norm in some parts of India which is being practised by both youth and the old, but the trend has been fast declining in Pakistan.
