KESC ordered to restore electricity to Tahir Plaza

KARACHI (PPI) - A division bench of Sindh High Court comprising Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali & Justice Salman Ansari Friday directed Electricity Inspector of Karachi Electricity Supply Company to restore electricity supply to Tahir Plaza, Karachi, which was burnt in arson riots of April 9, 2008.

Petitioner Advocate Ghulam Qadir Jatoi submitted SHC on May 29, 2008 had directed respondents to carry out internal electricity fittings at Tahir Plaza, but fittings work was done and supply was yet to be restored to plaza.

SHC division bench observed it seemed EI had not issued verification certificate. It issued notice to EI with direction to deputy officer to make proper electricity arrangements at Tahir Plaza within two weeks.
