City Council members in unison against hike in power tariff

All members unanimously demanded the withdrawal of recent increase in the power tariff, announced by the KESC. They termed it the sheer injustice being meted out to the citizens, who have already been reduced to abject poverty due price hike and other problems.

Opposition leader Saeed Ghani of Awam Doost said that a plot of 125 acres situated at Jamshed Town could be used to set up a KWSB treatment plant.

He further said that illegal plotting was being conducted in PECHS and alternative plots were being allotted to unknown people.

Opposition member Jumman Darwan said that PPP government has taken notice of the increasing prices of power tariff and President Asif Zardari has issued orders in this regard.
