City Council members in unison against hike in power tariff

Haq Parast member Ahsan Siddiqui said that due to present power crisis in Karachi, the city should be declared a calamity-hit area. Opposition member Ibrahim Khan urged the opposition and treasury members to hold a protest in front of Karachi Press Club against the high-handedness the KESC.

UC nazim Orangi Town, Akram Siddiqui, said that corrupt KESC officials were involved in the theft of electricity causing serious hardships for common citizens. He alleged that KESC staffers took bribe for installing kundas to steal electricity.

Haq Parsat member Mazhar Alam proposed the CDGK to establish its own power production system.
