PML-N popularity declines in Sindh
By ZAMIR SHEIKH September 17, 2008 KARACHI - Tug of war for power among influential groups is making revival of Pakistan Muslim League (N) in Sindh all the more difficult. Though Syed Ghaus Ali Shah has returned home but he was facing difficulties in unifying the party in the province, which has ruled the country as well as Sindh twice in the past.
The PML-N has become a rudderless ship drifting in the political choppy waters. Even at the lower tier no party structures exist and the workers are dismayed as there is no leader to rally the party around.
Despite the fact that a number of opportunists and turncoats bolted away PML-N and joined the bandwagon of PML-Q in the aftermath of October 12, 1999 coup but still the party was enjoying comfortable vote bank with diehard and committed workers.
