PML-N popularity declines in Sindh

By ZAMIR SHEIKH September 17, 2008

Insiders said that PML-N has its strong vote banks at Baldia Colony in Karachi from where late Mian Ejaz Shafi was elected MNA twice. The candidates in the past won seats from Manzoor Colony, Hazara Colony, Mehmoodabad and Railway Colony but the party vote bank was in disarray due to the lack of interest in local party leadership.

A total disappointing situation exists among the workers, who remained steadfast with the party in the absence of high command but now when it is in power in the Punjab, no proper attention is being paid to the party re-organisation and its local leadership has no time to renew contacts with the supporters, lamented a senior PML-N worker.

He said that grouping has ruined the party in the absence of high command and the committed workers kept themselves in low profile.
