PML-Q Sindh quits Musharraf's drowning boat

By Zamir Sheikh August 18, 2008

Both of the majority coalition partners, PPP and its ally MQM, have emerged unscathed from the crucial session of the Sindh Assembly when a unanimous resolution was adopted asking President Musharraf to take vote of confidence from the Parliament including the provincial assembly that is also part of the presidential Electoral College or resign.

PPP emerged victorious despite rumours of various kinds when it managed 94 votes against nothing in favour of the resolution.

PML-Q, the political rump in Sindh, let down its high command as well as its benevolent King, when three turncoats made political somersault and joined the bandwagon of PPP when Sindh Assembly asked the President to take vote of confidence or step down. What Mir Ghalib Hussain Domki had said that PPP was the biggest political party of the country and those who leaves the party would be called a “lota” but those who leave Q league and joins the ranks of the PPP will not be called “lota”. He claimed that he was an old Jiyala who had parted ways with PPP due to some reasons but now as he was re-joining his original party leaving Q league which has no vote bank, he would not be turncoat.
