Suicide bombers may hit govt installations

KARACHI - Intelligence agencies have been warned that suicide attackers could hit government installations across the country, The Nation learnt on Wednesday.
A copy of the letter obtained by The Nation revealed that the in-charge of Gurgural Training Camp and Taliban commander Noor Wali Mehsud, a close associate of Tehreek-e-Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud, has dispatched two suicide bombers from Gurgural to the residence of Asmat Ullah Gandapur Gormal in Tank.
It further stated that important personalities and government installations would be the main targets of the said suicide bombers.
The letter mentioned the details of the suicide bombers including Bahauddin son of Khan Badshah, resident of Gurgural village in Tehsil Tiarza. He belongs to Abbas Khel Mehsud tribe. He is said to be 18 to 19 years of age, and a clean-shaved youth with black eyes and short hair.
The second bomber’s name is Naik Badshah son of Sher Wali, resident of Spinkai village, Tehsil Sarwakai, caste Draman Khel Mehsud. His age is said to be between 14 to 15 years, height 5.5 with black eyes and short hair. Both the bombers have fair complexion.

The law enforcement agencies (LEA) have seized and defused two bombs, fixed in the pushcart located in the limits of the Nazimabad police station.
According to the report, an unknown caller informed at ‘15’ police complaint centre and pointed out the place near Malti Chowk, Nazimabad No 2 where two bombs had been fixed blew the pushcart of a chicken corn sop.
After getting information bomb disposal squad personnel reached on the spot and seized both the bombs. They had tried to defuse the bombs but could not get success and finally decided to explode them. Finally they had taken both the bombs to the coastal area, where they exploded them.
They pointed out that both the bombs were locally made and usually known as smoke bombs, which carried 200 kilograms of explosives. Police have registered an FIR 405/2008 against unknown culprits.
