Two killers awarded life imprisonment
By SHAFI BALOCH October 20, 2008 KARACHI - Additional District and Session Court Central Ms Tasneem Mosa has awarded 25 years imprisonment to two persons involved the murder of a local trader.
The court also imposed a fine worth Rs 0.1 million on Shehzad and Abdullah and in case of non-payment they would have to spend six months additional imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, they had killed Ghulam Akbar, a scrape dealer, on March 24, 2005 in the limits of New Karachi police station when he refused to give them extortion money.
Meanwhile, the division bench of Sindh High Court, comprising on Justice Khilji Arif and Justice Qamaruddin Bohra, issued notice to the Advocate General of Balochistan to appear till 17th November regarding the application filed by Sohail Akhtar, in which he submitted that his brother was detained illegally by the intelligence agency.
