Blood donation camps organised

KARACHI - On the appeal of President Asif Zardari, thousands of party workers and supporters donated blood for Pakistan army on the 56th birth anniversary of PPP’s slain chairwoman Benazir Bhutto, here on Sunday.
Karachi chapter of the PPP established 5 camps for blood donation and party workers and office bearers donated blood.
Condolence meetings were also held all over Sindh province including its capital Karachi. Quran Khwani and prayers were offered for the eternal peace of Ms Bhutto’ soul. “Bhutto family has rendered unmatched sacrifices for Pakistan and democracy. We renew our pledge today to accomplish Bhutto’s mission,” vowed Waqar Mehdi, acting provincial information secretary of the PPP at Peoples Secretariat.
“Pakistan Army has engaged in war against terrorists in the northern tribal areas of Pakistan. Benazir Bhutto, the Martyr of democracy also wanted to defeat terrorism,” said Saeed Ghani, an official of the PPP Karachi.
PPP’s officials Rashid Rabbani, Waqar Mehdi, Rafiq Engineer, Ismatullah Khan, Siddique Abu Bhai, Habib Junaidi, Lateef Mughal, Arshad Naqvi and Saeed Ghani visited these camps throughout the day. Zulfiqar Qaimkhani, Qasim Baloch, Raja Razzak, Abid Satti and Sardar Khan were also present on the occasion.
District East chapter set up its camp at PPP’s Karachi office. District West chapter’s camp was established at Habib Bank Chowrangi, Central’s camp was set up in North Nazimabad’s Nusrat Bhutto Colony, South chapter’s camp was in Kakri Ground and Malir chapter’s camp was at Dawood Chowrangi Landhi. The PPP office bearers assured the supporters that the PPP government would resolve their problems.
