City to have $300m desalination plant
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER May 22, 2008 KARACHI - The phenomenally expanding city of Karachi will have its first state-of-the-art desalination plant with capacity of purifying 50 million gallon per day (MGD) water in next 18 months.
Aqualyng, a European origin water-treatment company is all set to launch the plant in the City with an estimated investment of US$300 million.
It would be the first foreign investment in such a mega project and achievement can be rightly attributed to new provincial government, city government and water and Sewerage Department of the city.
