SHC bans poisonous gas plants in hospitals
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER August 23, 2008 KARACHI - Sindh High Court on Friday issued notice to the health ministry against the installation of a plant at the government hospitals in violation of the ban against this project across the world due to the discharge poisoning gas.
The hearing of the case was held before the division bench of Sindh High Court comprising on Justice Munib Ahmed and Justice Peer Ali Shah.
The court issued notice to around 12 institutions including, Health Ministry, Environment Protection Agency and City District Government Karachi and nine others authorities for installing this plant at the government hospitals.
Meanwhile, the other countries had banned to use such plant in 1996 when they learnt that it was injurious to health due to discharge poisoning gas. The court asked the authorities concerned to use the substitute and modern plant in the place of such plant.
