Hearing of power-tariff case adjourned
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER October 22, 2008 KARACHI - Sindh High Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of a petition filed against recent increase in the power-tariff till 13th November.
A division bench of SHC comprising of Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Khawaj Naveed Ahmed conducted the hearing while deputy attorney general appeared before the court and requested for further time.
The provincial additional secretary of Irrigation and Power submitted the petition against increase in the electricity tariff in Hyderabad and said that it was much higher thann other parts of the country.
Petitioner made the federal ministry of Water and Power, Hyderabad Electric Supply Cooperation (HESCO), National Electric Power Regularity Authority (NEPRA) respondent in the case. He requested that the tariff should be equivalent to that throughout the country.
