By NISAR MEHDI July 24, 2008

PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has also instructed party workers to remain calm, he added. He said it was the responsibility of the government to look after the family of Khalid. He announced giving 1000 suqre yard plot to the widow of the leader in the metropolis free of cost. He also paid rich tributes to the services rendered by Khalid for the party. Later, Qaim Ali Shah extended sympathies with deceased’s father Ghulam Ali, sons Hamza, Haider, daughter Khadija and brothers Tariq, Suleman and Rehan. He prayed Allah, the Almighty, to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

“Provincial Government will unveil the culprits involved in the target killing of Khalid Shahenshah,” said Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, Home Minister Sindh after the funeral prayers.

He said it was a conspiracy aimed at weakening the PPP and its government. He said some quarters were trying to spark off ethnic violence and they too were trying to destroy peace in Karachi.

“Let police ascertain who was involved in his murder. We have not named anyone,” Faisal Abidi, PPP Karachi President told The Nation when contacted for his comment. He observed the last rituals at the graveyard.
