CM unveils relief package for dependants of Oct 18 victims
By ZAMIR SHEIKH October 23, 2008 KARACHI - Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on behalf of Sindh government has announced a relief package for the heirs of the martyrs of October 18 tragedy that includes a residential plot, financial assistance for the construction of houses and government jobs according to the academic qualification and skill of dependants of the deceased as desired and willed by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
He made the announcement here on Thursday at the CM house where a function was held in the memory of martyrs who laid down their lives while welcoming their beloved leader Shaheed Benazir Bhutto when she arrived in Karachi on that fateful day after eight years exile.
More than 150 plots measuring 120 square years each would be given to the dependants of the martyrs and amount would be sanctioned for the construction of the houses. The documents of the plots were shown to the gathering on the occasion.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that President Asif Ali Zardari who is the Co-Chairman of the PPP would personally hand over the documents of the plot, employment letters and the cheques of the amount for the construction the house soon.
He said it was the wishes and the desire of beloved Shaheed Benazir Bhutto that all those who had suffered due to twin bomb blast on Sharae Faisal should be looked after and given all possible assistance.
