Altaf asks Nawaz to desist from confrontation

On his question to the party workers over the party stance to propose the name of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari as the presidential candidature of the country, MQM workers endorsed the party decision to support Asif Ali Zardari for the slot of President.

Referring to the ongoing sectarian violence at Kurram Agency (Parachnar) and D.I.Khan, Altaf Hussain offers his party services to end the ongoing sectarian violence in these areas.

He added that if government wants MQM will hold the meeting of top clerics belongs to the both Shia and Sunni schools of thought to resolve the sectarian violence in these areas which claims hundreds of precious lives.

He appealed to the religious scholars and clerics of both Shia and Sunni schools of thoughts to control the sectarian violence in Kurram Agency, D.I.Khan and other areas of the NWFP province and create religious harmony.

Pointing out the MQM’s view against the Talibanization, he said that some culprits wrongly portray the MQM’s stance against Talibanization that MQM are against Pukhtoon’s.

Altaf said that MQM had not any kind of dispute and conflict with Pukhtoons and Awami National Party (ANP). Pukhtoons are our brothers.
