On the other side, a cement manufacturer while talking to The Nation claimed that over $4.2 million dollars losses had been faced by the cement industry in last 5 days as ships waiting for loading for last one week at berth at port, but cement could not reach the port due to strike.

Out of daily exports of 15000 tons cement, the Lucky cement company’s share is 8000 to 9000 tons cement, an official of the company said, adding that his company was facing huge losses due to strike of transporters.

He told that one ship hired by the company was waiting for loading of cement which occupied the berth four days ago while some other ships were also waiting for loading at outer anchorage of port.
