Power cuts become routine

KARACHI - The City again witnessed the worst loadshedding on Sunday and Monday as Unit 4 of Bin Qasim power plant tripped.

Sources at Bin Qasim power plant informed that the supply of gas, according to the agreement, should be at 200MMCF but at present only 135MMCF per day is being supplied to KESC, which in turn is causing deficiency of electricity generation.

They said that the KESC was facing shortfall of over 110 megawatts of power as a result unscheduled loadshedding continues with the duration of 3 to 4 hours on rotational basis.
