Power cuts become routine
By SAADIA SAEED August 26, 2008 KESC has to generate electricity through gas only as an alternative but they have continued the production of electricity through gas on regular basis. Electricity production through furnace oil is expensive because of high oil prices as compared to natural gas which is cheaper, they said.
Almost all areas of the City witnessed heavy loadshedding on Sunday and Monday. The most affected areas are Malir, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, Tariq Road, FB Area, Nazimabad and others areas. It was also learnt that the KESC was supplying low voltage to consumers because of less power generation.
