Zardari for handing over historical sites to provinces

KARACHI - Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Sassui Palijo said Tuesday that President Asif Ali Zardari had promised to hand-over the control of archaeological sites to provinces.
She said this while speaking in the Sindh Assembly during question-answer session on Tuesday.
She said that the paperwork was being done to give control of the historical sites to provinces very soon.
She pointed out that Sindh government had already approached the federal government for the transfer of the management control of 130 archaeological sites to the province, as these sites were not being looked after properly by the Center.
Palijo hoped that the archaeological sites would soon become provincial subject as President Zardari had promised to look into this demand of Sindh Government.
