KU mulls ban on students wings
By SYED JAFAR ASKARI August 28, 2008 KARACHI - The administration of the Karachi University (KU) is considering to impose a ban on the activities of students’ organisations at the campus following a recent clash between two rival groups, namely Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) and All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organisation (APMSO), which left 4 people, including 3 students, dead and 6 others injured on Tuesday, The Nation was told here on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the KU administration has issued show-cause notices to six students, found involved in the mishandling of three teachers and vandalism at the administration block while vehicle entry passes, issued to the students of the university (morning and evening), have also been cancelled.
