KU mulls ban on students wings

Heavy contingents of Rangers have been deployed at different parts of the varsity especially at the entrance on the orders of Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan. A higher official of the KU said that the idea of imposing ban on the activities of the student organisations at the campus was considered in an urgent meeting held under the chair of Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui to review law and order situation at the campus.

“The meeting also considered to control the situation permanently at the campus. Some teachers are also found openly supporting some student wings at the KU campus”, he said.

KU Campus Officer Dr Khalid Iraqi, while talking to The Nation, said that the varsity would consider every option to save the lives of innocent people. The KU has decided to take instant disciplinary action against those found responsible for mishandling the teachers, he added.

As per the KU notification issued on Wednesday, the KU chief Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui called an urgent meeting and take measures to control and normalise the situation at the campus.
