Call for action against burning of thieves
By SAADIA QAMAR August 29, 2008 Prof Fateh Mohammad Burfat said, “In Pakistan for the past 25 years, the rate of crime is increasing at a fast pace. Violence breeds violence. Drugs and bullets are the gifts donated freely by the Zia regime to the youth of that era. The recipe to provide just system belies in justice and brotherhood. The rise of poverty and unemployment have led to the poor state of justice system.” Dr Mubarak Ali said, “History repeats itself and it tells us that the African-American were ill treated by the White race in America.”
The police must be trained in accordance with the international standards and their training should be based on factual lines. The police must be selected on the basis of merit. CPLC must be made affective and the salaries of police personnel should be increased.
Law of the just must prevail instead law of the jungle. Justice delayed is justice denied. To prevent abuse, the curriculum must engage the subject study of human rights.
