By SAADIA QAMAR July 29, 2008 More importantly, the electricity crisis which have gripped the City has assumed greater proportions, with the shortage of 400-450 megawatts of power supply to the City. The metropolis is currently needed 2450 megawatts of electricity. Loadshedding continues unabated with maximum leads to six hours of supply cut three times a day on rotational basis.
There were reports of electricity shortage in Malir, Landi, Orangi and Korangi areas and closer vicinities even suffered tremendously. Loadshedding was even reported in Gulshan, FB Area, North Karachi and North Nazimabad.
Many residents so forth believes that power crisis occurred in slums more often and for a limited period in posh localities.
