SA in unison to build summer resort in Sindh

They said development of Gorakh Hill will bring about changes in the socio-economic conditions of the people.

They said the Hill station will attract tourists and investors which will open up job opportunities for the local people.

Anwar Mehar of PPP was apprehensive about law and order situation in the area and said that development depended on law and order, which if not resolved, the bill will prove a futile exercise, he added.

In the meantime, Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Sasui Palejo informed the house that police pickets have been set up at every 8 kilometer distance to monitor the law and order situation. After discussion, Speaker Nisar Khuhro asked the law minister to readout the bill clause by clause.

Speaker clubbed clause 2 to 35 together and put in the house which was carried unanimously.

Earlier, MQM member Syed Khalid said that 18 to 20 hours long power breakdown badly affecting the people and also hampering the commercial and business activities in the metropolis.

He said neither M.D nor any other responsible official of KESC was available in the office whenever the elected representatives tried to contact them.

He said he wanted to table an out of turn motion against the power utility. However, Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro, with the consultation of MQM Parliamentary leader Sardar Ahmed said that resolution would be moved on Monday.

During the question hour, journalist covering the assembly proceedings staged a token walk out to lodge protest against the detention of Dawn News Report Hassan Abdullah by some sensitive government agencies.

Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri visited the press gallery and assured the media men that government would inquire into the incident.

The house which met with Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro with one and half hour delay, took up question hour.
