Concerns shown over 2020 Plan

KARACHI - The speakers in a seminar 'Karachi Strategic Development Plan (KSDP) 2020 Citizens' Perspective' on Friday expressed their concern over the master plan of Karachi.

The Strengthening Participatory Organisation (SPO) & Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF) organized this seminar at a local hotel.

The development experts, government representatives, members civil society organisations, and political leaders including Hussain Haroon an intellectual and former provincial speaker, Yousuf Masti Khan of National Workers Party (NWP), Hakeem Baloch former provincial minister, Taj Haider central PPP leader, Mohammad Ali Shah Chairman of PFF, Mustafa Baloch Regional Manager SPO, MNA Muzaffar Shejra, UC Nazim, Elahi Bux Baloch of SPO and others addressed the meeting.

Addressing the seminar, Hussain Haroon demanded of government to establish a town at the outskirts of the city where around 5 to 6 million people from interior parts of Sindh could be settled, and the town should be named after Benazir Bhutto.

He said that the government decision in this regard should support all factors of development including those who have been living here since ages.

He emphasized that rulers should stop land schemes and projects which were depriving them from homes.

Hussain alleged that fishing was allowed in adjacent areas of Presidential house and why it was banned in Gizri DHA area.
