Concerns shown over 2020 Plan

The NWP leader Yousuf Masti Khan maintained that the rulers have been hatching conspiracies against the old settled areas of the metropolitan for new settlers.

He observed that PPP leaders were responsible for worst condition of its dominated area Lyari due to ongoing gang-war.

Hakim Baloch, former provincial minister stated that in 2006, the City District Government Karachi (CDGK), under the name of "Tameemr-e-Karachi development Program" hundred of people have been displaced and no body provide them compensation. The 2020 development programme is conspiracy against the indigenous people and hoped that PPP government will take initiative to stop this.

PPP Senator Taj Haider assured full support of his party in prevention of this plan. Sindh Local Government Ordinance 2001 and plan 2020 is useless because it is not beneficial for general public and any plan that does not involve the local and benefit to them, that will be counter productive.

He said that the 2020-Plan has created serious concerns for the citizens who in reality are not considered the residents of the Karachi city in the plan. These concerns revolve around non-democratic and non-participatory preparation of the plan, displacement of the local community, loss of employment and severe impacts on the marine natural environment.
