Chaudhry Ghafoor membership suspended for eight days by Speaker PA

Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mohammed Iqbal has suspended the membership of Punjab Prisons Minister Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor for eight days and opposition member Bushra Gardezi for one day over June-29 incident in Punjab Assembly. After the Speaker’s ruling on the incident, the opposition members have ended the boycott and returned to the house. The Speaker has also constituted a code of conduct committee with Deputy Speaker as head of the body to avoid such incidents in future. Bushra Nawaz Gerdaizi a member of the opposition displayed a placard inscribed with a slogan against Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and Punjab Prisons Minister Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor had snatched the placard. Provincial Minister of Law Rana Sanaullah welcomed the Speaker’s ruling on the issue saying the government accepts the ruling with open heart. Senior Provincial Minister Raja Riaz also praised the ruling and assured wholehearted cooperation to the speaker during the house proceedings.
