LG Secretary directed to take action against ex-district nazim
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER December 3, 2008 LAHORE - Punjab Local Government Commission has directed Secretary Local Government Punjab to take necessary action against Mian Jalil Ahmad Sharqpuri, former District Nazim Sheikhupura and initiate special audit of district government Sheikhupura in the light of the findings of enquiry, conducted by the Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab.
According to an official handout issued on Wednesday, these directions were passed on during a meeting of Provincial Local Government Commission, presided over by Sirdar Dost Muhammad Khan Khosa, Punjab Minister for Local Government & Community Development. Naveed Chaudhry and Ijaz Maharvi, members Local Government Commission also attended the meeting.
The anti-corruption inquiry revealed that former district nazim Sheikhupura Mian Jalil Ahmad Sharaqpuri had been involved in corruption worth millions of rupees and misuse of authority.
The meeting reviewed in details the findings of inquiry report referred by the ACE.
The inquiry, initiated on the complaint of UC nazims of District Sheikhupura, disclosed that Mian Jalil Ahmad Sharaqpuri had been involved in committing the corruption to the tune of crores of rupees and misuse of authority.
