2 Eids celebrated

They also believed that the central body took the decision about celebrating Eid on Wednesday under pressure from NWFP Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour who announced on Tuesday night that Shawaal moon has been sighted in many districts of the province. The minister even did not bother to wait for decision of the zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which led to the controversy.

Meanwhile, two Eids were also celebrated in parts of Gujranwala, Narowal and Faisalabad. Like in Lahore, a few people, however, offered Eid prayer in these cities. It may be noted that country as a whole kept up the tradition of observing three Eids, as the people in the Mohmad agency and other tribal areas celebrated Eid on Tuesday.
