Convicts who could not pay fine freed
October 3, 2008 LAHORE (APP) - On the special directive of Chief Minister Punjab, first time in the history of Punjab Prisons Department, all convicts languishing in jails due to default of payment of Diyat, Arsh, Damn and fine amounting to rupees 33 million were released on last Tuesday, a day ahead of Eid.
