Convicts who could not pay fine freed

IG Prisons said that entire credit goes to Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for taking keen interst for the welfare of the inmates and again first time, the daily diet expenses of prisoners were also increased by the Chief Minister from rupees 19.50 to rupees 50 daily.

Mian Farooq Nazeer said that now all prisoners are being served chicken and beef and with basmati rice besides tea made of tetra pack milk.

About the five months special remission, he said that two month special remission each by Home Secretary and IG Jail was granted while one month by the respective Superintendents of Jails.

He said special ceremonies were held in concerned jails where all convicts were released and were given quality suit and Rs 300 each for travelling expenses.
