New police force for VVIPs protection

About functions of the force, the SSP said it would be further divided into different categories. Each group of the trained police officials will be assigned task separately to thwart any terrorism activity during their deployment.

The force will be fully skilled in gunfire and capturing the suspects at the routes, processions, public gathering and venues or counter any terrorism activity at the said points.

To a query, the SSP said that new instructions received from the federal governments had been forwarded to the police force putting them alert and vigilant for the protection of politicians’ life.

To another query, he said that no politician has contacted the city police for extraordinary security arrangements, as the police department itself was fully aware of the ongoing security situation in the country.
