Hoti asks officials for speedy relief efforts
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER August 6, 2008 PESHAWAR - NWFP Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti has directed for accelerating relief efforts and shifting stranded flood affected people to safer places, besides providing them food, medicines, clean drinking water and other essential goods.
Talking to different delegations here at the Frontier House on Tuesday, Hoti directed health, works and services and other provincial departments to remain red alert in order to cope with the situation.
Deputy Speaker National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi, Arbab Naijbullah and MPA Syed Rahim were leading the delegations, who separately called on the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister expressed his grief and sorrow over the casualties and devastation caused by floods in the province and directed the departments concerned to assess the losses so that the affected people could be compensated as early as possible. He said that the provincial government was doing beyond its resources for the rehabilitation and mitigation of the sufferings of the flood affected people.
