PPP leaders pay rich tributes to ZA Bhutto
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER July 6, 2008 “Though PPP is facing numerous hardships in the absence of its great leaders, but we will continue the Bhutto’s mission for people’s empowerment, supremacy of constitution and parliament, and restoration of democracy,” he asserted.
The PPP has a philosophy and a broader vision in politics, he said and added that founding PPP leader Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his daughter Benazir Bhutto always strived for people’s rights.
Qasim Zia said his party accepted all the challenges Pakistan today and expressed the resolve to take effective steps to pull the country out of prevailing crises.
Ghulam Abbas said, “We feel ourselves alone without Benazir Bhutto Shaheed, who had a profound impact on our political and private life.” PPP is committed to bring a positive change in the system to strengthen democratic institutions, he maintained.
Without naming the PML-N, Ghulam Abbass said that some parties did not participate in the black day as they were the products of dictator Zia and benefitted a lot during his rule. Again without making any direct reference to PML-N leadership, he said that people in uniform were still there and if the PPP government is dislodged any time, they (the PML-N) would not be brought to power. It would be the men in uniform who would capture power again, he added.
He said that great Benazir Bhutto always said that people were her asset and she wanted to live and die with them.
