Tomatoes price swells to Rs80/kg

He further hinted that there are no chances of decrease in tomato price in the days to come because the local market would have to rely on the imported tomato. The government on Sunday fixed the tomato price at Rs59 for Sunday bazaars but tomatoes were in short supply. In all the Sunday bazaars, the vendors were selling tomatoes B-grade and rotten tomatoes.

Meanwhile, there was thin attendance of shoppers in the Sunday bazaars as a great number of people did not return to the City from their native towns, where they had gone to celebrate Eid with their families.

However, 20-kg flour bags were sold at Rs415 and there was sufficient flour supply in the Sunday bazaars. The prices of most of the vegetables and fruits decreased by Rs 2 to Rs 3 as compared to the last week.
